Ronda

Ronda is one of Andalusia’s most striking and historic towns, dramatically perched on a rocky plateau divided by the deep El Tajo gorge. The iconic Puente Nuevo, an 18th-century stone bridge spanning the gorge, is Ronda’s most famous landmark and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Beyond its dramatic scenery, Ronda preserves a rich cultural legacy shaped by its Roman and Moorish past.
You can explore the old Moorish quarter, with remnants of Arab walls, the Arab Baths dating back to the 13th century, and winding streets that reflect Islamic urban design. The town is also home to the Plaza de Toros, one of the oldest bullrings in Spain, now a museum offering insight into an important aspect of Spanish tradition. Ronda’s charm lies in its blend of natural beauty, architectural marvels, and history. Walking through its narrow streets, visiting the gardens of Casa del Rey Moro, or gazing over the fertile valley below provides an immersive experience. Ronda represents both a lesson in history and a moment of wonder in the heart of Andalusia.
